Prostitution

There are many arguments in favour of decriminalisation of prostitution, and many in favour of criminalising the man. Presently the Government is putting through parliament legislation which will make it easier to close brothels, criminalise men who knowingly or unknowingly pay for sex with a women who is controled. In addition women who work the street will be forced to attend meetings to help them out of prostitution, otherwise they face a prison sentence.

All of this legislation appears to be designed to make prostitution more difficult. Forcing some of it underground, making the lives of the women more dangerous where their working premises can easily and quickly be closed.
